'What is going on with my Facebook Page?!'

Don’t worry, even we were confused!

You’ve gone onto Facebook and your business page has brought up a notification.

“Welcome to your New Page!”

Eh, I’ve had this page for ages...

Then all of the sudden, you’re not even on your own profile and you can’t see your normal feed.

Welcome to the world of Facebook!

This is the new Facebook Page Experience.

It was officially released in October of 2020, for professional pages

Facebook staged its release for the new page experience, which is why your page may only be changing over now. It has now been opened to more categories of pages.

That’s cool, but what actually is it?

Facebook released this statement on their new update:

“We’re rolling out the redesigned Facebook Pages experience that makes it simpler for public figures and creators to build community and achieve their business objectives. “

What have they introduced?

A redesigned page layout.

On both mobile and desktop view, the view of your business page will look different.

Unlike before, all your professional tools will be found on the left-hand side of your page. This includes your insights, Meta Business Suite and other useful tools.

A dedicated news feed.

The premise of the new experiences that, once you switch, you then are the page.

So, you are interacting as your page, which means all the content from the accounts your page follows will be displayed on your news feed. All the sponsored posts will also be responsive to the accounts you interact with, your location and your interests.

Easy navigation between your profile and page.

This may not have been ‘easy’ at first. How long did you spend trying to figure out how to get back to your profile?

Once you know, its super easy.

To navigate back to your profile from your page on Facebook, click ‘Menu’ and either click your profile in the circle or select the drop down menu and click your profile.

This is also the same for choosing your page.

Actionable insights.

Facebook has dedicated a whole tool to the insights for your Facebook Page.

Not only is this more comprehensive than I was before, but it now also provides you with actions based on what is doing best on your page.

This is a brilliant update for small businesses as it provides quick tips for success for your online content.

New Q&SA format.

Copying Instagram? Maybe.

However, Facebook have improved the Q&A format to allow for richer and more interactive conversations.

New safety features.

Facebook have improved their ‘ability to detect activity that isn’t allowed on our platform including hate speech, violent, sexual or spammy content and impersonation’ to make the channel safe for all.

These are just some of the new features.

No one really likes change, do they? But we promise you, you will get used to the new changes and you won’t even remember what it was like before.

Facebook are always looking to improve their platform and we are very excited about this new Facebook update!
